Maple Glazed Tofu
This is the “glaziest” and most addictive tofu bites you’ll ever eat! Caramelised in a sweet and savoury glaze, the tofu chunks are roasted in vegan butter and assorted spices until crisp and crunch.
They’re super versatile and can be made with almost any spice that you have on hand! This sticky-sweet snack makes a great stand-alone dish or can be added to your mixed vegetable stir-fry.
One pan and a handful of ingredients, this maple glazed tofu recipe is a definite must-try!
INGREDIENTS:-
- 250g tofu, cut into cubes
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1 tsp smoked paprika or red chilli powder
- 1/4 tsp ground cumin
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp vegan butter or olive oil
- 1 tsp sesame seeds, roasted
INSTRUCTIONS:-
- Gently press down the tofu with a paper towel to drain out the excess liquid.
- To make the glaze, whisk together maple syrup, paprika powder, cumin, pepper, salt, soy sauce and vinegar in a small bowl.
- Heat butter or oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the tofu chunks and cook on all sides for about 5 minutesor until crisp and browned.
- Pour the glaze over the tofu and toss to evenly coat. Cook until the mixture has thickened.
- Garnish with sesame seeds, cashews and chopped coriander. Serve immediately.
